These Are Good Days Too

I've got a stack of old Musician Magazines I inherited a few years ago and they are all full of gems like this. This article features the latest and most popular gear to show up at the National Association of Music Merchants show in Anaheim California in 1982. Along with MusicMesse and a select few other events, the Namm Show is where all kinds of gear hoping to make its mark in musical history is released.

Anyone else wish their local Craigslist had a selection like this today? And have new synths always cost about $2000?

What A Time To Be Alive

1982 was pretty great. The gear was amazing and music was changing at an astonishing pace. New wave was in command. House music was finding it's way.

But these are pretty great times too. In my mind, wishing away the present has always marked the beginning of the end for an artist.

So embrace today. Enjoy the moment. Mourn loss. Celebrate life. Breathe in. Create. Witness the pain. Chase for the joy.

And let it all be fuel for inspiration.
